Census Bureau releases statistics on 2,500 mid-sized communities

More than 2,500 counties and cities with populations between 20,000 and 64,999 now can access statistical profiles from the U.S. Census Bureau for the first time since the 2000 census. Among the findings in the American Community Survey (ACS), released in December, is that California has the highest concentration of mid-sized communities with median home values of $900,000 or more. December's ACS is the first to combine three years (2005-2007) of responses to the 3 million ACS surveys sent out annually.
